Dance Review - 28th March 2008

Yes i, Greetings & a warm welcome to all the Reggae Wales Members
and the people who came out to see Levi Roots & the Dub Asante Band
on stage @ Escape Club, Northampton Lane, Swansea. It was a wicked
session, we had music from The Mighty Jah Observer and I played some
Big Tunes from 10 till 11pm.

The Dance as a whole was not very full and some members said to me
they didn't hear about it till late and I should have contacted all
3,000 members sooner and promote and promote till my feet hurt. So I
have to try harder - Respect to Dai Boy for that.

Dai also said that members could do with a squeeze on the door as
well, so we are now looking at £7.00 admission to all Reggae Wales
Members before midnight & £8.00 to non-members before midnight,
after midnight it's £10.00. Membership is always free @ Reggae Wales
just register and leave your email or postal address.

On the positive side Jah Observer played some tunes that I haven't
heard before, some 70's Roots & Dub and Vibrant Steppers music. Some
of his Crew & dedicated Observerites came up from London, Cardiff,
Bristol, Carmarthen & Swansea. Colour Red, Ras Ipple, Kama Dread,
Lady B & G, Pj & W and some people I didn't know, but it was nice to
see them. We didn't leave the Dance till 5am.

Levi & the Band did a Blistering 2 hour set, that was pretty special.
Maxi & Fluxy was playing, Drumpton, Festus and there was a Sister on
stage playing guitar, didn't catch her name, but nuff respect for that.

Levi did the Ska version of the Reggae Reggae Sauce Song which everyone
seemed to love and was cheering & singing along.

His new album & book should be out in June this year so watch out
for them.

Everything was perfect and sounded great, they had an 8K Turbo Sound Rig
which we got from Roger Rees in Carmarthen - Thanks for that Roger,
maximum respect.

The atmosphere was good all round, funny thing happened though, we sold
out of Ackee & Saltfish by 2am and Daniel put too much Jerk Sauce on the
Chicken and some people said it was a bit too hot for them, but we sold
out of chicken anyway - thank god - I'll cook next time.

The only thing we didn't get was Jamaican Patties because my man finish
work late and by the time he left London he would have been late in
Swansea.

So all in all we had a really good time and we are looking forward to
the next Dance and every Dance on the Last Friday of Every Month.

Thanks to Levi Roots and the Band, Jah Observer, Reggae Wales members &
staff, also JW (club owner) Sue (club manageress) and everyone who was
involved, including Phil the Printer.

Big Up to Fiona who works day and night to keep the Website going and
keeping things together.

One Love
Jah Guidance
